This brass female quick disconnect has a counter part that fits into it to allow solution to flow through a contained system. The male quick connect completes this system. Both of these pieces are an integral part of the carpet wands that come with our box carpet extractors. When attaching this female quick disconnect to any threaded barb, we recommend using some pipe thread sealing tape to ensure there will be no leakage of solution.
